Waku Waku - Organic Fast Food

With the opening of the first branch of the restaurant chain WakuWaku in Hamburg, the company has given the starting signal for the self-proclaimed revolution in the fast food sector. The corporate philosophy is based on a consistently implemented sustainability concept and inexpensive, healthy food that is prepared extremely quickly. The key theme of sustainability is implemented in an undogmatic, creative and unconventional way. The name of the chain already stands for this: "Waku" is Japanese and means hot-roasted, cooking, but also exciting or exciting.

On the culinary side, WakuWaku relies on a front-cooking concept where you can watch the chefs at work. All dishes are wok-based and are prepared without exception from organic ingredients. Cooking in a wok allows for an extremely short preparation time (less than 5 minutes), protects the aroma and ingredients of the ingredients and also requires little oil. The menu is also unconventional, offering classic Asian dishes as well as curry sausage and boiled beef.
The claim of sustainability runs through the entire technical equipment of the restaurant - from the energy-efficient kitchen technology and the team outfit made of FAIRTRADE-certified materials to the economical hand dryer in the toilets. IFgroup's task was to translate the sustainability principle into a consistent architectural concept.
